MAC Sounds like noise lipstick 

Sounds like noise is volgens MAC een matte bright true orange en die omschrijving is helemaal waar. Oranje is eigenlijk een van mijn favoriete kleuren wat make-up betreft, mooie oranje tinten zijn perfect voor een frisse look. Mijn favoriete MAC oogschaduw is de oranje straw harvest van een paar collecties terug. Nu is straw harvest een bescheiden oranjekleurige shimmer dus Sounds like noise was wel even schrikken in het begin, maar na een tijdje begon ik eraan te wennen en vond ik de kleur eigenlijk wel serieus kicken.

Sounds like noise zou ik niet snel dragen bij een heavy smokey eye, maar tijdens een event kreeg ik onlangs een MAC Technique workshop. Tijdens deze workshop krijg je les van de MAC Make-up artists. Ik kan je alvast één ding zeggen, watch, learn and play. Het is enorm leerzaam en leuk want je leert altijd wel een interessante techniek of look te beheersen. Zo was het thema van de Technique workshop waarbij ik aanwezig was een look met hele heftige lipstick. De wenkbrauwen werden mooi geaccentueerd, de ogen licht aangezet met mascara en een goudkleurige paintpot (Vintage selection, echt gorgeous!) en de lippen werden voorzien van een laag Morange en een bronskleurig accent. Nu is Morage wel zo oranje als oranje maar zijn kan dus voor velen was het even slikken. De reacties waren verdeeld, het was nog net geen tranendal á la de Next top model makeovers, en na de wijze woorden van een MUA 'het is maar make-up dames geen tattoo' werd het ook al wat rustiger. Ik heb de kleur laten zitten en bij de eerste blikken en de spiegel was het ook even schrikken maar na een tijdje was ik gewend aan de felle kleur en vond ik de nudekleurige gloss die ik op weg naar huis aanbracht eigenlijk heel erg saai en kleurloos.

My favorite MAC eyeshadow is the orange straw harvest from a couple seasons ago. Straw harvest is a modest shimmery orange and that can't be said about the Sounds like noise lipstick. Sounds like noise was a little shocking after applying it for the first time but it totally grew on me. I think it's a total kick ass shade of lipstick. 

I would not recommend wearing Sounds like noise with a heavy eye make-up, but when paired with the right look it can be totally fabulous. During an event a while ago I had the opportunity to do a MAC Technique workshop. During this workshop the make-up artist showed how to create a look with a daring shade of lipcolour. Make sure to subscribe to the MAC newsletter and join a Technique when you can, you can pick up some excellent tricks so grab the opportunity yo learn from the best.

The brows were accentuated, the eyes got a little mascara and a golden sheen with a paintpot (Vintage selection, what a stunning shade!). The lips got a boom pow effect with the Morange lipstick and a hint of bronze dapped on the center of the lips. For many it was a confronting moment, it was almost a Next topmodel makeover drama until the MUA spoke these calming words: Relax ladies, it's not a tattoo it's just lipstick. After a while I totally liked the bright shade and when I applied  my signature nude coloured gloss on my way home it looked seriously dull and boring.

Terug naar Sounds like noise, bij het aanbrengen van deze lichte maar sprekende oranje tint dacht ik ook wel even oei...maar ook deze tint begon na een tijdje goed te wennen en ik denk dat deze helemaal tof staat bij een lekker zonnig tintje. Als ik een goed kleurtje heb zal ik nog eens foto's maken. De lipstick is extreem dekkend en nadeel van een matte lipstick is natuurlijk dat elk velletje en elke imperfectie zichtbaar is. Nu is een highlighter in dat geval een uitkomst, de lichtreflecterende pigmenten trekken wel de aandacht maar verdoezelen ook imperfecties. Op te tweede foto zie je dan ook het effect van een vleugje highlighter over de  matte lipstick. Ik heb deze gewoon voorzichtig met een deppende beweging met mijn vingertoppen over de lipstick aangebracht.

Ik denk dat ik bij mijn volgende bezoekje aan MAC eens wat heftige lipsticks ga shoppen, ik baal echt enorm dat ik Party Parrot uit de Strength collectie ben misgelopen, maar denk dat ik in ieder geval voor Vegas volt ga en ik durf de Viva Glam Nicki 2 nu ook wel aan denk ik. Back to Sounds like noise, after I applied this for the first time looking in the mirror was a little shocking but you should really give shades like this time to get used to. After a while I totally loved it and I think it will looks fabulous with a summer tan. The lipstick is extremely opaque and the matte finish does show all imperfections on the lips but I like to cheat. I applied a shimmering powder highlighter to accetuate the orange and camouflage the little imperfections on my lips. I dapped it on gently wit my fingertips and voilà!

I think I am going to invest in some bright MAC lipsticks when I visit the store next time. Too bad I did not get my hands on Party Parrot from the Strength collection boohoo. Vegas Volt is on my wishlist and I even consider Viva Glam Nicky 2. Do you have any suggestions? MAC Hailey Williams will be available soon online.
