Essie Absolutely shore & OPI Spark de triomphe

Ik heb onlangs Absolutely shore gekocht (deze kwam uit de zomercollectie van vorig jaar en ik heb geen idee waarom deze kleur mij nu pas opviel) en toen ik mijn nagels had gelakt was ik heel erg blij met de kleur maar er miste gewoon op dat moment iets...Ik had behoefte aan een beetje sparkle! Dus een beetje spark de triomphe op de toppen van mijn nagels maakte het plaatje compleet.

I recently purchased Absolutely shore (from last year's summer collection, I really don't know why I did not notice it before) and when I applied it to my nails I looooved the colour but there was something missing... I just needed a little sparkle! So here it is with Opi spark the Triomphe on the tips.

Zoya Sunshine collection swatches

The Sunshine collection from Zoya makes the summer of 2011 a sparkly one. The collection has 6 sparkly shades (I purchased 5 of them, I did not get raspberry golden Reva) Lets have a closer look to the shades, since there are a lot of pics I added a break in this post, so see more photos after the break. All swatches are 2 coats, no topcoat.

De sunshine collectie van Zoya maakt een sprankelende van de zomer een sprankelend feestje. De collectie omvat 6 kleuren (ik heb er maar 5 aangeschaft, twijfelde teveel over de framboosgouden Reva) Aangezien het nogal veel foto's zijn heb ik dit berichtje even ingekort. Essie Brazilliant: Super bossa nova swatches & review

I just walked the dogs and I am soaked...it poored down like crazy....So I am going to fix myself a hot cup of tea with honey and a stroopwafel....yum......Super Bossa nova is a warm raspberry shimmer with a cool toned shimmer. Very suitable as a pick me up on a rainy summerday like this (this morning I felt like a dark grey or green....I am already thinking in fall colors due to this rain...) The formula is great and this is 2 coats. Have a nice evening and goodnight if you are about to hit the hay xoxo

Ik heb net de honden uitgelaten en ik ben echt doorweekt.....het hoosde hier als een bezetene....Dus ik ben nu een kop thee aan het zetten (lekker met honing en een stroopwafel yum......) Super Bossa nova is een framboosroze shimmer met een warme ondertoon, de shimmer daarentegen heeft een koele tint, dus dat zorgt voor een leuk contrast. Dit is echt wat je nodig hebt op een regenachtige zomerdag (ik wou eerst al grijs of donkergroen opdoen...voelde me helemaal herfstig vandaag...) Deze lak lakt heel fijn, dit zijn 2 laagjes. Maak er nog een gezellige avond van en weltrusten voor straks xoxo

Collistar summer 2011 sun effect make-up skittle swatches

Pupa Blue paradise polish 714 turqouise

Turqouise is wel er...a turqouise that leans towards the blue side and this is a great formulated polish which gives good coverage in 2 coats. The 5 ml bottle has a full size brush so it is easy to use. This is my least favorite out of the 3 blue polishes from the summer collection. That does not mean I hate it, I still think it is awesome but I think I will use the other 2 more, seriously, 3 blue polishes in one collection, what's not to like! swatches of the other 2 coming soon ;) Check out pupa on their website or facebook. I am so glad I re-discovered this brand, they have amazing products.

Turqouise is en euh..tja turqouise lak die iets naar het blauw neigt en heel fijn lakt en dekt in 2 laagjes. Het 5 ml flesje heeft bovendien een handig full size borsteltje wat het lakken nog eenvoudiger maakt. Dit is mijn minst favoriete uit de 3 lakken van de zomercollectie, wat absoluut niet betekend dat ik niet mooi vind, ik vind m te gek! Maar ik denk dat ik deze het minst vaak zal dragen, het valt ook niet mee om te kiezen uit 3 van die gave blauwe lakken ;) Swatches van de andere 2 volgen snel, check de website van pupa of facebook voor meer info en verkooppunten. Ik ben zo blij dat ik dit merk heb herontdekt, wat een heerlijke producten :)

Opi stranger tides 2.0 swatches~

I guess you have seen a zillion swatches of Stranger tides, so I am presenting you my 2.0 version of this odd color. This is 2 coats of Stranger tides topped off with one coat of Opi's Significant other color. Do you like this combination???

Ik kan me goed voorstellen dat je al tig swatches van Stranger tides hebt gezien, dus vandaar bij deze mijn 2.0 versie van deze bijzondere groene kleur. Dit zijn 2 laagjes stranger tides met als "topping" een laagje Significant other color van Opi. Wat vind je van deze combinatie?

And here are the swatches without significant other color, the formula of this polish is excellent. I must admit I had to warm up to this shade, but once on my nails I knew stranger tides is a keeper :-)

En zonder significant other color, deze lak is uitstekend van kwaliteit en ik moet toegeven dat ik een beetje moest wennen aan de kleur, maar eenmaal op de nagel kan ik er niet omheen, dit is een blijvertje!

Essie Resort 2011: Your hut or mine swatches & review

The theme of this years resort collection is a different resort break than last year :-) In 2011 Essie took us to a platinum caribbean beach with lots of grenadine, in the lap of luxury. This year we are on a trip to the bush, surrounded by Lions and game sleeping in a comfortable hut. Your hut or mine is a soft coral pink or pink coral (it's too soft and warm for a regular pink....) with pink light purple and golden shimmer. Hard to define but absolutely gorgeous. The formula is wonderfull and the shade is just...you know what? This is the shade of a summer evening sky, when the sky turns somewhere between orange and pink, so in case of a rainy day and grey sky, fix yourself a drink, sit back and look at your gorgeous nails! :-) this is 2 coats, no topcoat by the way . Enjoy! I am going to fix myself an iced cappuccino yum!

Het thema van de resort collectie is dit jaar een heel ander verhaal dan vorig jaar. In 2010 vertrokken we met Essie naar een platinum caribbean strand met veel grenadine in de lap of luxury. Dit jaar zitten we in de bush, omringd door lions en game (wild) en slapen we in een hut :-) Your hut or mine is een zachte koraalroze of rozekoraaltint (het is geen standaard roze, het is een hele warme tint) met roze, gouden en lichtpaarse shimmer. Lastig te omschrijven maar wel errug mooi. De formule van deze lak is super en ..weet je, ineens heb ik het, dit is gewoon de kleur van de lucht als de zon bijna onder is. Ergens tussen oranje en roze, heel warm en mooi. Dus mocht het regenen en blokkeren grijze wolken de zonsondergang, maak een lekker drankje, ga lekker zitten en geniet van je nagels in plaats van de zonsondergang lol :-) Voor ik het vergeet....dit zijn 2 laagjes, geen topcoat. Ik ga aan de iced cappuccino yum! Enjoy!

Summer of blues: Zoya Phoebe swatches & review

This summer is all about blue, there are a lot of awesome blue shades to choose from. One excellent choice is Zoya Phoebe, a matte blue shimmer which is stunning with and without topcoat. It applied quite easy for a matte and dried really fast. This is 2 coats of Phoebe. I am so in love with this color, it's the perfect shade of blue for the matte shimmer.

Deze zomer draait om blauw, er zijn ontzettend veel mooie blauwe tinten om uit te kiezen en dit is een hele goeie. Zoya Phoebe is een matte blauwe shimmer die zowel mat als met topcoat de show steelt. De lak bracht best makkelijk aan wat bijzonder is voor een matte lak en droogde lekker vlot. Dit zijn 2 laagjes Phoebe. Dit is nu al een van mijn favorieten voor de zomer, ik ben echt gek van blauw en dit is precies de juiste tint voor het bijzondere matte effect.

Zoya Summertime and sunshine skittle swatches

I am always looking forward to all the summer collections since I have a soft spot for cheery bright colors, I always have to warm up more to the darker shades.....Here are the skittle swatches of the Zoya summertime and sunshine polishes I purchased from these collections. Some shades are not in my comfort zone and that's why I got them ( yes the purples) and I am currently rockin Kieko on my tips and I never imagined myself liking it this much! All these are 2 coats. I also got Phoebe, but I made seperate swatches of that blue beauty so I will show you that one this weekend :-) What is your favorite of these collections??? My favorites is Apple for sure :-)

Ik kijk altijd uit naar de zomercollecties want ik heb nou eemnaal een zwak voor vrolijke felle kleuren. Ik moet altijd ontzettend wennen aan de donkere tinten die meestal in de hersft en winter uitkomen....Hier zijn vast de skittle swatches van de Zoya lakken die ik gekocht heb. Phoebe zat daar ook bij maar die laat ik je dit weekend apart even zien. Sommige van de lakken die ik gekocht heb zitten niet in mijn comfort zone (juist..de paarse) maar ik heb nu Kieko op mijn nagels en ben blij verrast door dit leuke kleurtje! Heb jij al een favoriet uit deze collecties??? Mijn topfavoriet is absoluut Apple :-)

WIC Marocco collection: Essaouira swatches & review

Essaouira is a tranquil green creme which applies like a dream. The 7ml bottle will fit in every beautycase because this is a summer holiday must have polish. This is a brighter jade green than mermaid tears which is a little dustier. Wic is available at authorized retailers and online at Herôme's online shop.

Opi Pirates of the caribbean in NL stores

It is going to be a busy week for me and this is also the week that the pirates collection will be released in The Netherlands. This weekend I am going to Eurodisney Paris for a special pirates themed weekend so I hope I can find time somewhere to pick some of the shades up, my 3 must haves are silver shatter, mermaid tears and Stranger tides. Which one is your must have pick?

Chanel Mimosa summer 2011 swatches & review

Goooood morning! Do I have something awesome for you today ;) Yesterday I went out to pick up my wedding dress ( I had it cleaned after the wedding :) and across the street there is a really nice cosmetics store so I could not resist and went over there first. While looking and sniffing around (there was a sales rep showing a new look to the owner) my eyes went over the new collection she was showing, and there it was....Mimosa....So I could not stop staring and asked if I could take a closer look, the Chanel lady was really nice and she even offered me to try it on, and when someone offers so politely, you may not refuse right? ;) So here are 2 coats of Mimosa, there are some bumps and scratches, because it had no time to dry properly (I had to carry my heavy dress after applying it) but still for the drying time it had, the result is pretty good. Mimosa is a cheerful yellow with really nice shimmer, which shows only a little due to lack of sunlight... :( Honestly I hoped it would be a more vibrant lighter shade of yellow, but maybe that's because I am a little pale at the moment, by the time this releases (2nd week of may 2011 in the Netherlands) I hope to have a little tan so it's more flattering. Still this is a great yellow with really good formula. I am curious what Chanel will come up with next, thay did a great purple (paradoxal) green (Jade) blue (nouvelle vague) so what will there next stunner be? Enjoy! ps I am holding Zoya creamy because that one comes closest to Mimosa :)

Goedemorguuuuh :) Ik heb vandaag echt iets heel erg gaafs!!! Gisteren ging ik mijn trouwjurk ophalen (die had de schoonmaakbeurt echt nodig na de bruiloft :) en aan de overkant van de Witte Koets (een echte aanrader voor bruidsmode, ze zijn er ontzettend lief en vakkundig en hebben een heeele mooie collectie) zit een hele fijne DA parfumerie (DA drogisterij en luxe parfumerie Josefien) met alle mooie merken cosmetica en koh!, dus ik moest natuurlijk even naar binnen....Eenmaal aan het snuffelen en kliederen zag ik vanuit mijn ooghoeken de collectie die een vertegenwoordigster aan de eigenaar liet zien...en het was de nieuwe chanel zomerlook....Toen ik weer bij positieven kwam vroeg ik of ik de mimosa even mocht bekijken, de chanel dame was blij verrast en zei dat ik de kleur zelfs op mocht doen. Nou als iemand iets zo beleeft aanbied mag je niet weigeren toch??? Dit zijn 2 snelle laagjes Mimosa, de manicure heeft het niet helemaal overleefd omdat ik de lak niet de tijd heb gegeven om te drogen (moest mijn loodzware jurk sjouwen) maar voor de droogtijd die er was zat het er eigenlijk nog heel goed op, dus de droogtijd van deze lak is absoluut een pluspunt, er zat ook geen topcoat op. Mimosa is een volijke gele lak met erg mooie subtiele shimmer (ik heb voor het raam gelegen om het pietsie beetje zon te gebruiken voor de foto) Stiekem had ik gehoopt dat het een lichtere tint geel zou zijn, want hij is nu iets te donker voor mijn bleke wintervelletje, maar als de kleur medio Mei in de winkels ligt heb ik hopelijk weer een beetje een kleurtje op mijn handen en dan is deze tint perfect. Kortom een hele mooie kleur met een goede formule. Ben wel een beetje benieuwd waar Chanel in de herfst mee komt na al die spectaculaire lakken, we hebben al een bijzondere paars (paradoxal) groen (jade) en blauw (nouvelle vague) gezien, wat zullen ze daarna brengen?
Ik heb trouwens een flesje zoya creamy vast omdat die qua kleur erg dichtbij de mimosa komt, maar dan zonder de shimmer. Enjoy!
