Ik was toch wel heel nieuwsgierig naar de nieuwe Dior lakken en aangezien ik ze toch vrij kostbaar vind probeer ik ze eerst altijd even. Op mijn pink en ringvinger draag ik het turqouise Saint tropez en op de middel en wijsvinger de koraalkleur Bikini. De kleuren vind ik helemaal prachtig, zomers en toch heel chic. Maarrrr...je hebt echt wel een topcoat nodig want ik had al flinke chipping na een dagje (vooruit het was in een weekend met een paar wasmanden was, afwassen en een badkamer die gedaan moest worden maar ik had meer duurzaamheid verwacht). Zowiezo was ik nieuwsgierig of ik geen dupes in mijn collectie had. Ik heb uiteindelijk 2 hele mooie vergelijkbare lakken gevonden. Al zijn de 2 Dior kleuren iets fletser dan de goedkopere alternatieven die wat feller van kleur zijn. alle lakken heb ik in 2 laagjes gelakt. Helaas was de pupa een limited edition van vorig jaar, maar misschien kan je die nog ergens vinden. Mijn conclusie: ik heb 2 kleuren die heel dicht in de buurt komen dus ik hoef deze 2 niet persé aan te schaffen. Pfewwww er staan nog genoeg andere duurdere items op mijn verlanglijst dus dat komt stiekem wel goed uit ;)

I was curious about these 2 shades so I tried them out before buying since the pricetag needs some carefull consideration. I am wearing the turqouise Saint tropez on my ringfinger and pinkie and the coral bikini on middle and indez. These shades are just...wow! Perfect for summer, but....after only one day I already had some major chipping (I did work a lot in the house that day, laundry, cleaning the bathroom, doing dishes) so you do need a good topcoat for protection. Once wearing them they did remind me of other shades so after some digging I found 2 almost dupes. The biggest difference is the intensity of the shades, the Diors are more muted and the other 2 are more bright. Unfortunately the Pupa was last year's summer limited edition. Final toughts: I do love these, but since I already own 2 very similar shades I think I will pass these. Pfewww my luxury wishlist is quite huge right now so I don't mind skipping some items :) All shades are 2 coats of polish.

Koh Douglas

This gorgeous blue shade which leans to green was a limited edition for a cosmetics retailer here in The Netherlands, Douglas. this is 2 coats and shows how well Koh knows how to work with excellent formula's. The first two pics are in sunlight and the 3rd is in the shade, irl it is slightly more green but the pictures do show how vivid and vibrant this one is, this color makes me crave sunbathing and swimming pools. I am looking forward to the spring collections from Koh! (yes there will be 2 collections, one with vibrant shades including the color blue lagoon presented at the milionair fair in Amsterdam and Brooke Shields got the first polish.The 2nd collection is still a big mystery but I will keep you updated.) Deze waanzinnige blauwe lak was een limited edition speciaal voor de Douglas. Dit zijn 2 laagjes en deze lak is een prima voorbeeld van de expertise van Koh op het gebied van fijne formules. De eerste 2 foto's zijn in het zonnetje genomen en de 3e in de schaduw, in het echt is de kleur een tikkie groener maar je kan goed zien hoe fel en vrolijk deze tint is, ik krijg hiervan echt zin in zonnebaden en een tropisch zwembad. Ik kijk ontzettend uit naar de nieuwe lente en zomercollecties van Koh! (ja het worden er 2! Eentje met felle knalkleuren waaronder blue lagoon, die werd op de miljonair fair overhandigd aan Brooke Shields. Over de andere collectie kan ik nog helemaal niets zeggen, maar zodra ik meer weet laat ik het je weten. Enjoy!

Om een beetje los te komen van de lentecollectiegekte (leuk woord voor galgje...) doe ik de komende dagen wat swatches van kleuren die uit andere collecties of de basislijn komen. Is ook wel weer even wat anders want, niet doorvertellen, ik ben al die pastelcremes en glitters alweer een beetje beu....

Het is nog steeds heel erg koud en er ligt nog sneeuw maar het zonnetje schijnt zoooo fijn vandaag, dus vandaag een lakje dat in zonlicht het beste tot zijn recht komt en helemaal bij het thema wintersport en vrieskou past, uit de Ski collectie van 2007 frostbite. Kijk en geniet, dit is zo een geweldig mooie blauwe lak.Klik op de afbeelding voor een vergrote weergave.
To create some distance from all the current spring collections (is it just me or are all those creamy pastels getting pretty boring??) I will be doing some swatches of some colors of previous collections or permanent collections. So lets start with a ski season and cwinter "appropriate" color, from the 2007 ski collection, frostbite, a vibrant metallic blue, sooo pretty!
