Ik was altijd een groot fan van Hawaïan tropic, maar helaas is dat merk niet meer in Nederland verkrijgbaar. Dus ben ik op zoek gegaan naar goede vervanging. Deze heb ik gevonden in de Byron bay zonneproducten. Byron Bay is een surf hotspot aan de Australische gold coast, en in die felle zon stellen vooral de surfers hoge eisen aan bescherming. Het door de Aboriginals ontdekte titanium dioxide is een krachtige natuurlijke beschermer tegen UVA en UVB straling. Naast deze bescherming zijn er ook lokale verzorgende bestanddelen aan de producten toegevoegd zodat de producten niet enkel bescherming maar ook verzorging bieden aan de veeleisende surfers. Nu ben ik ook een veeleisend type dus ik smeerde en smeerde en ik ben zeer tevreden. Ik heb de olie en lotion in spf 10 gebruikt (een vrij lage factor maar in Italië smeerde ik 30 en ben nu ook al vrij donkerbruin dus met 10 kom ik hier de dag wel door als ik de heetste uren netjes in de schaduw blijf) De olie laat een mooie glans achter en heeft een heerlijke tropische geur, de lotion is heel erg luchtig en trekt heel snel in maar laat zich goed verdelen. Wat mij vooral opvalt aan de lotion is de hydratatie, mijn huid voelt heerlijk zacht na het aanbrengen en ook na meerdere laagjes smeren krijg je geen plakkerige klonterige toestanden. De lotion ruikt wel iets subtieler dan de olie maar heeft ook een onmiskenbaar zomers geurtje. Beide producten zitten in een sprayflacon en aan elke flacon zit een heel erg leuk leren koordje met schelpjes en handgemaakte houten kraaltjes. Nu ik zo enthousiast ben over deze producten wordt ik wel heel nieuwsgierig naar de aftersuns, wat dacht je van de Lime Coolada body butter of de Cooling Aloë Vera gel? Dan nog een heeeeel belangrijk pluspunt, de Byron bay producten zijn niet op dieren getest, voor meer info check http://www.byronbaysuncare.com/home/  Laat de zomer nog maar heeel lang duren ;) Byron bay is verkrijgbaar in Nederland, Oostenrijk en Italië.

I used to be a huge fan of Hawaïan tropic but the products are no longer available in The Netherlands so I had to find something new. I found great replacement in the Byron Bay suncare products. Byron Bay is a surfers hotspot at the Australian Gold Coast and those surfers are very demanding when it comes to good protection in the burning sun. Aboriginals found the mineral titanium dioxide, a natural and very powerful protection against UVA and UVB rays. Other local nourishing ingredients were added to the formula to create a product that provides both protection and nourishes the skin. Well I am very demanding too, so I was very curious about these products. I tried and loved! I used the oil and lotion in spf 10 (a low protection, after my holiday in Italy where i used spf 30 I have a very deep tan so 10 is enough for here as long as I avoind the peek hours between 1200 and 1600) the oil leaves a gorgeous shiny finish and the lotion applies smooth and is very quickly absorbed. Great plus is that even after several layers my skin still was smooth and not sticky and lumpy of all the suncare product buildup. The oil has a very tropical scent, the lotion has a more subtle, but still very nice sunny scent. The bottles have a spray for easy application and every bottle has a cute chord with seashells and  handmade wooden beads. Now that I am this happy about the protection, it's time to discover the aftersuns. What do you think of Lime Coolada balm or Aloë Vera cooling gel?
