mavala Art collection: Waikiki orange swatches & review

today it's Queensday in the Netherlands, a celebration of the former Queen's B-day and the whole country turns orange (the last name of the Royal family is "van Oranje" :-). So this includes my mani, here's a great orange shade from the latest Mavala collection. Waikiki orange applies wonderfull in 2 coats and has a hidden shimmer which was not really visible in the bottle but is on the nails. Lovelovelove this! I have a soft spot for oranges :) The mavala formula is amazing and this color really pops! Happy Queensday all!

Vandaag op koninginnedag kleurt het land orange dus kunnen de nagels niet achterblijven. Dit is een oranje lak uit de nieuwe Mavala collectie, waikiki orange. De formule van de lak is echt ontzettend goed en in de lak zit een hele mooie shimmer die pas op de nagel tevoorschijn kwam. Ik ga deze kleur de komende tijd heeeel veel dragen, koninginnedag of niet :-) Heb nou eenmaal een zwak voor oranje lakken. Mavala lakt geweldig goed en ik durf wel te zeggen dat er geen enkel ander merk is dat zulke mooie shimmers maakt als Mavala. De lakjes zijn oa verkrijgbaar bij diverse douglas filialen en de wat luxe gesorteerde drogisterijen. (Etos op schiphol heeft ze ook dus vlak voor de vakantie nog ff wat lakjes scoren :-) Fijne koninginnedag allemaal!

Can't believe it already has been more than 4 months...

That I am someone's wife....(lol) I should have posted these 4 months ago, but I was going trough the pictures and I realized I only posted a few, so here's some more wedding goodness :)

Dat het alweer ruim 4 maanden geleden is dat ik getrouwd ben....slik...(lol) Ik had deze 4 maanden al willen plaatsen, maar ik was zojuist even in de foto's aan het neuzen toen ik besefte dat ik dat nog niet gedaan had...Dus bij deze nog wat huwelijkspret :)

Bella Luccè scrub & Bath buttercreme review

Sometimes, very rarely, you discover a brand you can't imagine you never discovered it sooner. Bella Luccè is one of those brands. But it is not easy getting to know this brand because once you have tried one product, you will only want more. (I do :) I got two of their products and you don't want to see my wishlist....
Let's start with the Bamboo black sesame scrub, this has a just the right stickyness to it, some scrubs will fall of you and straight down the drain if you apply to much, but this one sticks to the skin and massages very well without being gooey. The scent is intoxicating and your skin is silky smooth after using this. Now I also want their Passion guava bodyscrub...

Another tropical treat is their starfruit banana bath buttercreme. When addes to the water you won't notice anything different at first, but when you sink into your tub and feel the softness of your skin you will be surprised! Usually I get bored easily when taking a bath so I always have a magazine within reach, but I never reached out for my magazine because I just closed my eyes and drifted away to tropical beaches....guess you are never too old to learn that relaxation can be this good :) For more information on Bella Luccè check out their website www.bellalucce.com

Heel soms kom je een merk tegen waarvan je zou willen dat je het jaren eerder al had ontdekt, Bella Luccè is zo'n merk. Maar pas op, als je eenmaal een product hebt aangeschaft zal je alleen maar meer willen (dat is mijn ervaring tenminste :) Ik heb 2 van hun producten aangeschaft en je wil mijn Bella Luccè verlanglijst niet zien..... Laat ik eens beginnen met de Bamboo black sesame scrub, een ietwat kleverige scrub maar op een goede manier (niet zo'n scrub die bij het aanbrengen niet blijft zitten en zo door het putje spoelt...) die goed op de huid blijft zitten en zich goed laat inmasseren. Een tintelfris en superzacht velletje is het resultaat en de geur is betoverend. Ik wil nu ook de Passion Guava scrub zoooo graag hebben....

Nog zo'n tropische verassing is de Starfruit banana bath buttercream. Als je dit product in het badwater doet zal je niet meteen onder de indruk zijn, maar wacht maar af, eenmaal in je badje zal je verrast zijn door de zachtheid van het water en je huid na het badderen. Meestal verveel ik me vrij snel in bad, dus ik neem altijd een tijdschrift mee, maar dit keer heb ik mijn ogen gesloten en genoten van de tropische geur die je meevoert naar tropische stranden....nooit geweten dat ontspannen zo ontspannend kan zijn ;) Bella Luccè is voor Nederlandse en Belgische liefhebsters verkrijgbaar via de leuke webshop http://www.time4beauty.be/ .

Essence Out of my mind
This is 2 coats and the formula is actually pretty amazing.
I really love this shade, that flashes somewhere between green
and deep turqouise.

Dit zijn 2 laagjes en de lak werkt verbazingwekkend goed,
ik vind de kleur, die ergens tussen turqouise en groen in zit ook
echt heel erg bijzonder.

This is essence choose me (ring&index) vs Orly Haileys comet
 (pinkie &middle) Both are 2 coats, and the only difference is that
Haileys comet is a tenny tiny bit darker. So they are almost
identical twins :) the brush is ok, and the bottle holds .16 fl oz.
I purchased these at the local drugstore.

Comet (pink en middelvinger). Dit zijn 2 laagjes van beide en ze
zijn zo goed als identiek, alleen is Haileys comet een tikje
donkerder qua kleur. Deze 2 lakjes heb ik bij de lokale kruidvat
gekocht, een merk dat eenvoudig verkrijgbaar is dus :)
Het penseeltje was wel ok en in het flesje zit 5 ml lak, net een mooie
hoeveelheid om eens iets te proberen :)

Opi Pearl of wisdom vs WIC Napoli

My favorite pedi colors are nudes the ones that look like seashells, preferably mother of pearl or anything within that range Pearl of Wisdom is one of my favorite pedi polishes, but uhoh it has competition now. In my local perfume store there was a Wic display and I immediately spotted Napoli, it reminded me of Pearl of wisdom, so I only did 2 nails with the tester to compare them at home (that explains the little bump in Napoli, always blame the stickshift) But they are not dupes, Pearl of wisdom has a more red flash and microglitter, while Napoli looks more green and is more opaque. Can you see me running straight back to the store ;) The Opi is 3 coats and Wic Napoli 2. Which one is your favorite? I am in love with both :)

Mijn favoriete kleurtjes voor op de teentjes zijn nudes en schelpenkleurtjes, lekker veel parelmoer :) Pearl of Wisdom was lange tijd mijn favoriet, maar ohoh, hij heeft concurrentie namelijk Napoli van Wic. Ik zag de Napoli in een display bij mijn parfumerie, maar de kleur deed me erg aan Pearl of Wisdom denken, dus ik besloot wijs om m eerst op 2 nagels uit te proberen zodat ik thuis kon vergelijken (vandaar de kleine imperfectie in Napoli, in de auto stappen met verse lak is lastig). De kleuren zijn geen dupes, Pearl of wisdom heeft een rozerode flash en microglittertjes en Napoli is dekkender heeft een groene flash. Napoli moest er dus komen, zie je me al terughollen naar de winkel :) Dit zijn 3 laagjes van de Opi en 2 van de Wic Napoli. Welke is jouw favoriet? Ik kan namelijk weer eens niet kiezen......

Enjoy the sunshine with Clarins

When the sun starts shining I always have a huge dilemma,

most sun protection creams are greasy and start running

down my face just minutes after applying them,

now I have found agreat solution. This product offers both

a high spf and a light gel cream texture which doesnot clog

my pores or makes you look blue and shiny like

a smurf ( the blue sheen from some sunscreens is not a

good look on my yellow undertoned skin....). I tan rapidly

and don't burn quickly, but I prefer a high spf because I

will have a deep tan even wearing this, sowhy not be extra sure?

 Plus I am really happy with this texture, hope this product will

stay in the Clarins sun range forever :) I really would not mind

 if they added more products with this texture to the range

 (gelcream aftersun pleaaaaase).

Als de zon gaat schijnen heb ik altijd een probleempje,

ik bescherm mezelf graag goed tegen de zon

maar de meeste volle cremes zweten na een paar minuten al van mijn

gezicht, zo niet charmant....Maar ik heb ein-de-lijk de oplossing

gevonden, deze creme die meer aanvoelt als een luchtige gel creme

trekt snel in en verstopt mijn poriën niet en laat ook geen blauwe gloed

achter (zoals zoveel cremes met hoge spf, en geloof me dat clasht

een beetje met de ondertoon van mijn velletje :) Ik heb namelijk een

 gele ondertoon en bruin heel snel en makkelijk, waarom smeer je dan zo

hoog hoor ik je denken? Ik neem graag het zekere voor het onzekere
en ondanks de hoge spf wordt ik nog diepbruin, plus dit is het enige product

met deze luchtige textuur, dus ik hoop dat dit product nooooit uit het

assortiment gaat. (Nu nog een gel-crème aftersun voor het gezicht en

decolleté Clarins pleaaase).

Lift Minceur  is one of my all time favorites, gives an instant

cool feelingto the legs and when applied like described in the guide,

 youshould see results, of course you can't sit down on the couch
with a big bag of chips and hope for the best, (that would be
so awesome!) But when I apply this in the morning it really makes
me watch my diet better, because otherwise it's useless,

weird thinking, but hey if it works ;) And if i treat myself
I want something really good and sit down and enjoy it to the

last bite :) a big glass of sparkly water is also a good distraction from
sweets :) Guess we all  have our own specific methods right :)
I am 1,72 m and have a current weight of 74 kilos, but it has been
85 once, so I have a closet full of outfits in that size range haha.

De Lift minceur is een van mijn all time favorites, deze vernieuwde
formule beloofd nog beter resultaat. Volg de instructies uit
de handleiding en masseer het product in en je benen
zullen al fris en een stuk lichter aanvoelen. Uiteraard moet
je niet daarna op de bank gaan hangen met een megazak chips

(was het maar waar dat dat hielp ;) Maar als ik dit product
s'morgens aanbreng let ik overdag toch goed op wat ik eet,
en geloof me, snoepen doe ik echt wel, alleen maak ik
uitzonderingen voor dingen die ik echt heel heel erg lekker vind
en geniet daar dan ook van tot de laatste hap. Een glas spa rood
wil ook wel  helpen als ik ineens heel erg zin heb om te snoepen :)

Denk dat iedereen wel zo zijn of haar methodes heeft om
op je gewicht te letten, zolang je zelf maar happy bent
en lekker in je vel zit, dat is het allerbelangrijkste!
Ik schommel met mijn 1,72 tussen de 72 en 85 kilo dus ik
heb een kast vol met kleren in alle maten, bij mij kan het excuus

"niks om aan te trekken" dus echt niet haha. Geniet van het zonnetje!

This stunner is Moon over Manhattan from BB Couture, i got this beauty as an extra in a swap, can you believe it? So sweet! Goodmorning all! Check out the skittles of the Mavala spring collection, these looked like cremes at first but once in the sunlight they are stunning shimmers! Mavala can make shimmers like no other brand, these are gorgeous, full swatches coming soon :) these are 4 of the 6 colors.

Pastel Azurro is a dusty pastel blue which applied
 like a dream in 2 coats. It reminds me a lot of Chanel
Nouvelle Vague which I unfortunately don't own so I am not
able to compare them. If you love this color as much
as I do, you have to hurry because it's a limited edition.

Pastel Azurro is een dusty pastelblauwe lak die in 2 snelle
laagjes perfect resultaat geeft. Deze kleur doet me erg denken
aan Nouvelle Vague van Chanel maar helaas heb ik deze niet
in mijn bezit dus ik kan ze niet vergelijken.

als ik dan moet je alleen niet te lang wachten, want het is een

OPI Melon of troy & Opi nailcare

If you are looking for a great sunny shade, don't look any
 further,here it is! Melon of troy is ( funny...I get visions of
Brad and Orlando haha and I did not even like the movie that
much...) a beautiful cool toned light orange frost which applied
 great in 2 coats, this is without topcoat. 

Als je op zoek bent naar een zonnig lakje, dan stopt de zoektocht
hier! Melon of Troy (visioenen van Brad en Orlando included haha
en ik vond die film niet eens zo geweldig) is een koele zachte oranje
tint met frosted finish. Dit zijn 2 laagjes zonder topcoat,
deze lak lakt heerlijk.





This is my nail rescue team, i really am a cuticle oil addict,
this one is great because you can take it everywhere,
I have one in my bag, my car and one on my nightstand :)
 (they should make those refillable ;) The scent is subtle
and I always apply a thick layer which I leave for
a little while and than massage into the cuticles.
The glass file is great, but I am so afraid to drop
and break it so I keep it safe in the package
(trust me I am sooo clumsy) I change between basecoats
because my nails are sometimes peeling and sometimes
brittle (I know I abuse my nails with all the swatching and
tons of remover but i swatch with love and it's worth it ;)
But I always end up with Nail envy or natural
nail basecoat. I really have to buy me some Opi pedi products
soon, my feet have started to crack again...:(

Dit is mijn nagelreddingsteam, ik ben echt verslaafd aan
nagelriemolie en deze is geweldig want je kan de tube overal mee
naartoe nemen, ik heb er standaardeentje in mijn tas,
auto en naast mijn bed. De geur is subtiel en ik smeer altijd
een dikke laag die ik dan laat intrekken en daarna
inmasseer. De glazen vijl vijlt je nagels in no time in de gewenste
vorm ik ben alleen zo onhandig dat ik bang ben dat ik m laat
vallen dus ik stop m altijd braaf terug in zn plastic kokertje :)
Qua basecoat wissel ik mee met de behoeften van mijn nagels
(soms keihard en broos en dan trek ik de vellen er weer vanaf,
al die remover, ook al is het een goede laat toch zijn sporen na, maar
ik swatch met liefde dus heb het er wel voor over ;) Nail envy en
natural nail basecoat zijn mijn favorieten. Ik moet binnenkort
ook zeker eens de pedicureproducten van OPI gaan aanschaffen
het klovenseizoen is weer van start gegaan...zucht....

Zoya is een onverwachte nieuwe favoriet. Dit zijn 2 laagjes van roodkoraal met gouden shimmer. Dit is echt een perfecte zomerkleur. Kijk en geniet ;)

Orly birds of a feather collection & Dior summer polishes & Dior Nirvana swatches

Hmmmm this is going to be a messy post, but I have a lot to share today so here it goes :) Australian Blogger Carina had some great news on her blog (check out her blog at http://www.gildednails.co ). It's the press release of an upcoming Orly collection, and it looks sweet! Beige, green and coral what more could I ask for :)

Hmmm dit wordt een rommelig bericht maar ik heb nogal wat te vertellen, dus ik begin maar gewoon :) De Australische blogger Carina had al een persbericht van de komende Orly collectie op haar blog (check http://www.gildednails.co/ ) en ik wordt er blij van, beige, groen en koraal, helemaal goed!

When I was in the Bijenkorf Amsterdam there was a display of the Dior summer look (forgot to take a pic because I was running late for my appointment at the Salon) and I did quick swatches of the 2 new Dior polishes, but between you and me, I was not impressed. The pink dried matte and the orange had a vivid shiny finish, but for real addicts the colors are not mindblowing. A Dior I did like was Nirvana, a light greenish teal somewhere between A bouquet for Ava and Ski Teal we drop, with great application in 2 coats. I tried this at my local perfume store, so there are some bumps and scratches but it's about the color right ;) And ps it has a subtle hidden shimmer :)

Ik had een afspraak bij de kapper in de Bijenkorf, dus dan ren ik altijd even de cosmetica afdeling over en spotte de nieuwe Dior look (beetje jammer dat ik er niet ff snel een foto van heb genomen....zucht) en deed 2 snelle swatches van de nieuwe lakken, maar eerlijk is eerlijk, ik was niet onder de indruk. Paradise Pink was een neon met matte finish, en aloha heeft ook wel ergens dupes, dus ik sla deze ronde over. Een Dior die ik wel heel erg mooi vind is Nirvana, een naar de groene kant neigende teal die qua kleur tussen A bouquet for Ava en Ski teal we drop zit, ik had deze swatches ff snel in de parfumerie gemaakt, dus ze zijn niet vlekkeloos, maar je krijgt een goed beeld van de kleur. Deze Dior bracht netjes aan in 2 laagjes en verassing, er zit ook een pietsie shimmer in.
