Princesses and the eiffel tower on the Playa del Platinum (huh?)

goedemorgen allemaal! Gisteren was ik met mn nagellakjes aan het spelen en kwam op een leuke combinatie, Essie playa del platinum (3 laagjes) met als topcoat een laagje Nubar Eiffel tower sparkle (pink en ringvinger) en een laagje Opi's Princesses Rule! (middel en wijsvinger) 2 zilverroze sparkles die van Playa del platinum een waar feestje maken. Helaas was er geen zonlicht, want dan had je de roze tinten goed kunnen terugzien in het glimgeweld, nu komen vooral de koele zilvertonen naar boven. Geslaagd experiment of niet? ( er komen er nog meer ;) Fijn weekend allemaal!

Yesterday I was playing with my polishes and found a nice combination, Essie Playa del platinum (3 coats) topped of with one coat of Nubar Eiffel tower sparkle (pinkie and ringfinger) and one coat of Opi's Princesses Rule! ( index and middlefinger) 2 silver gold and pink sparkles that turn playa del platinum into an instant party beach. Unfortunately there was no sunlight that would have really rocked the pictures and would have shown the golden and pink sparkles the regular daylight only shows the cool silver tones in all the sparkliness. some Orly polishs swatches, Glam Rock, Luxe and Rage

Deze staan al een tijdje op mijn harde schijf, dus zal ze maar eens plaatsen he? ;) Alle 3 de lakken zijn dekkend in 2 laagjes. Glam rock is een matte koperbronze met shimmers en letterlijk en figuurlijk schitterend met een laagje topcoat. Wat ik wel even kwijt wil...gebruik bij deze wel even een basecoat, dat maakt het lakken wel lastiger, maar deze lak heeft een aanzienlijk vlekrisico....(zie laatste foto mijn nagels zijn er nog niet bovenop....) Luxe is een koele geelgouden "foil" en rage is een rosegouden foil. (ik ben gek op rosegoud, het heeft zo een gave glow en warmte) Enjoy!

These have been on my harddrive quite a while so about time I post them..... All 3 are 2 coaters. Glam rock is a matte copperbronze shimmer which is absolutely stunning with topcoat. One warning tough, you might want to use basecoat with this one, it makes the polishjob a lot more difficult, but will prevent the stainingrisk...(see last pic, my nails still have not recovered....) Luxe is a cool yellowgold foil and Rage is a pinkgold foil (I loooove pink gold, it's so warm and glowy) Enjoy!

Ciaté paint pots in power dressing is a bright navy jelly. This is one of my first ciaté polishes (more to come the bottle alone is just way too cute ;) it has a nice formula altough a little thinner than usual polishes (that's the jelly thing) but nothing disturbing. The polish needs 4 coats to be opaque (i just keep on going untill my nail line is gone, I get have visible nail line anxiety I guess...) and is supershiny without topcoat. I am really curious about the other ciaté polishes, they can be purchased trough www.ciate.co.uk I have fruity pops, sugared almonds, superficial, members only and Mojito on my wishlist anything you like there? The ciaté polishes are Formaldehyde and Toluene Free, contain no parabens and are not tested on animals.

I am going nude this summer

Nee je zal me niet betrappen op een nudistenstrand, ik heb het over mijn nagels, ondanks mijn voorkeur voor schreeuwerige felle kleuren ben ik ook een echte nude liefhebster. Hier een overzichtje van een paar van mijn favorieten (ja dit zijn niet mijn enige nudes ;) Enjoy!

sweets from my sweet: Barielle cotton candy

Sweets from my sweets, sugar from my honey....Barielle Cotton candy is een warmroze shimmer met  gouden en roze glimmertjes, in het zonlicht lijkt deze roze lak meer op een warme perziktint. In de schaduw zie je de koele kant van deze suikerzoete lak met geweldige glimmertjes. Ik ben gek op dit soort kleurtjes en dit wordt zeker een van mn favorieten. Enjoy!

Sweets from my sweets, sugar from my honey....Barielle Cotton candy is a warm pink shimmer with gold and pink sparklyness in it, in the sunlight this pink is looking more like a pretty warm peach shade. In the shade you can see the coolness of this sugarsweet polish and all the stunning shimmers. I really have a thing for this kind of shades and i am pretty sure this will be one of my new sweethearts ;) Enjoy!

Mama's un-birthday boy Uli

gisteren was mijn gekke lieve Uli jarig, dus vandaag een paar van zijn leukste foto's. Het mannetje is gisteren 6 jaar geworden en kreeg s'avonds van de mama zijn lievelingseten...(nou ja bijna dan, het allerlekkerste vind hij McDonalds) mac&cheese(shhht niet aan zn papa doorvertellen hoor). Vandaag is het zijn onjaardag (toch een geweldige ontdekking van Disney in de originele Alice in Wonderland) dus misschien krijgt hij vandaag wel een cheeseburger haha. Enjoy!

Yesterday was my crazysweetie Uli's Birthday, so today I have some of his funnies pictures for you. The happy boy turned 6 yesterday and his mama made him his favorite food, (actually mcdonalds is his all time favorite) mac&cheese (shhht don't tell the papa). Today is his un-birthday (don't you just love the original of alice in wonderland) so maybe I will get him a cheeseburger today haha ;) Enjoy!

ps I own a polish from Zoya named Uli but I left my camera at my mom's so I am unable to swatch it now, I will post those pics another time, it's actually a quite nice nude/golden shade.

Painting the Barielle blues

Een tijdje terug kreeg ik mijn allereerste Barielle bestelling binnen die ik had besteld via barielle.co.uk (Barielle is dus ook bereikbaar voor europese Polishta's yay!) Ik zal maar eens beginnen met de blauwe lakjes,  helaas was er geen zonlicht, dat had wel mooier geweest maar helaas, we moesten het doen met gewoon daglicht. Eerst de fotos en daarna mijn oordeel. Enjoy!

A while ago i ordered my first Barielle's trough barielle.co.uk (Barielle is within reach for european Polishta's yay!) I will start with the blue ones, unfortunately there was no sunlight, so these are taken in regular daylight, sunlight would have made these pics awesome). Pictures first than my review. Enjoy!

L'amande soleil suncare

tijdens een bezoekje aan een van mijn favoriete adresjes voor natuurlijke cosmetica, vitaminen en yogi thee (http://www.devitaminewinkel.nl/) ontdekte ik de zonnelijn L'amande soleil van Gavarry. 17 producten voor in het zonnetje of erna en met een ruime keuze uit factor 6 tot 50. De producten bevatten onder andere olijfolie, UVB en IR filters, een natuurlijk UVA filter en anti-oxidanten om je huid te beschermen en herstellen. De producten zijn dermatologisch getest en, heel belangrijk, dierproefvrij.

Het eerste wat mij opviel was de vrolijke verpakking met nostalgische uitstraling, ik ben gek op italiaanse cosmetica (in Italie dook ik ook altijd meteen de apotheek en parfumerie in) en hoewel ik het liefst alles meteen had ingekocht (wat prijstechnisch ook geen drama zou zijn, de producten zijn erg vriendelijk geprijsd) hield ik mijn hoofd koel en besloot ik het eerst even 2 bij producten te houden, de rest kan altijd nog ;)

Ik ging naar huis met de crema solare spf10 en de Bagno creme doposole idratante (hydraterend aftersun cremebad/douche) een sulfaatvrije (sodium laureth sulfate (SLS) is een schuimmiddel dat huis en haar uit kan drogen en ook nog eens slecht is voor het milieu) bad en douchecreme die de huid verzorgt na net zonnebaden, maar eigenlijk gewoon heel lekker is voor dagelijks gebruik. De rijke creme ruikt ook nog eens heerlijk, de geur houdt een beetje het midden tussen zwitsal en Jil Sander Sun, een zonnige abrikozengeur die je alleen maar met de zomer kan associëren.

De crema solare spf 10 is een luchtige goed verdeelbare creme met een lage factor. Het product zit in een handige tube en ruikt net als de douchecreme heerlijk zomers. Voor een tube met 150ml ben je 14 euro kwijt, een hele nette prijs voor een (h)eerlijk product, ik ga toch maar snel terug om meer te halen....De producten van L'amande zijn bij 60 verkooppunten in Nederland verkrijgbaar, mail voor verkoopinformatie even naar info@rojafit.nl of ga even langs bij een verkooppunt van natuurlijke cosmetica bij jou in de buurt. During a visit to my favorite store for natural cosmetics, vitamines and delicious Yogi teas (http://www.devitaminewinkel.nl/) I discovered the range of L'amande soleil from Gavarry. A range of 17 products tanning and aftersunproducts with spf's from 6 to 50. The L'amande products contain olive oil and antioxidants and provides maximum protection against UVA-UVB and IR rays. The products are Dermatologically tested, but (a very very good thing) not on animals.
The first thing I noticed was the vibrant nostalgic look of the products, I love italian cosmetics and I had to keep my cool to not buy the complete range (altough the prices are really budgetfriendly) and try 2 products first, I can always come back for more;) 

I took home the crema solare spf 10 and Bagno creme doposole idratante (hydrating aftersun showercream) a sulfatefree (sodium laureth sulfate (SLS), a chemical that makes cosmetic products foam and can cause dry hair and skin and is also bad for the environment) bath and showercream that soothes skin after sunbathing, but is actually quite nice for daily use. the rich cream smells divine, the scent reminds me of Zwitsal babyshampoo and Jil Sander Sun, a very delicate apricot summery scent, so delicious it brings the summer to your bathroom!

The crema solare spf 10 is a non greasy easy to apply cream with a low sunscreen and smells just as lovely as the showercream. I paid 14 euros for 5.07 fl.oz which is a very decent price for a delicious and honest product. Opi fall Swiss collection ~Suzi Chocoholic~ swatches&review

De volledige naam van deze smakelijke kleur is I'm Suzi & I'm a Chocoholic, en wat toevallig ik ben ook een chocoholic! Chocoholic is een warme roodbruine creme, niet echt de kleur van chocolade, maar op de een of andere manier oogt het toch erg smakelijk op je nagels.....(alsof je ze in de chocoladefondue hebt gedoopt mmmmm) Dit zijn 2 laagjes, de Swiss collectie zal vanaf eind augustus bij de erkende opi verkooppunten verkrijgbaar zijn, met deze kleuren zou je bijna zin krijgen in de herfst;)  Enjoy!

The full name of this polish is I'm Suzi & I'm a Chocoholic, and what a coincidence, I'm a chocoholic too! Chocoholic is a very warm reddish brown creme, not exactly the color of chocolate, but once it's on the nail it looks very very tasty...)like you dipped them in chocolate fondue..mmm )This is two coats, the Swiss collection will be available in the Netherlands in August at the official Opi retailers and salons. This color almost makes me wish it's fall ;) Enjoy!

Opi fall Swiss collection ~Yodel me on my Cell~ swatches&review

  












































Yodel me on My cell zou ik omschrijven als een diep donkerturqouise vanwege de blauwe tint met een hint van groen, het doet me een beetje denken aan de preachtige kalme Zwitsere meren, diep donkerblauw en groen water zoals op de foto hieronder. Naast de bijzondere kleur zit er ook nog eens heel veel shimmer in deze lak, echt een plaatje, wat mij betreft een van de must haves van deze collectie, echt een unieke kleur, verkrijgbaar vanaf eind augustus. Dit zijn 3 laagjes en verder zou ik zeggen kijk naar de foto's en oordeel zelf ;) Fijn weekend!

Yodel me on my cell would be best described as a deep dark turqouise because of the blue with a hint of green in it, kinda reminds me of the serene Swiss lakes, deep dark blue and green water like on the picture below. Apart from the unique color this polish is packed with lots of shimmer, it's a true and unique beauty, definetely one of the must haves of this collecion. This is 3 coats and there's not much left to say but check it out for yourself ;) Enjoy the weekend!

Zoya Sparkle collection 2010: Gilda & Nidhi

Zoya Nidhi en Gilda zijn onderdeel van de sparkle collectie, waar ook Ivanka deel van uitmaakt.
Het was wel even wennen want de lak was vrij vloeibaar (ik had daarvoor swatches gedaan van andere lakken en die waren een heel stuk dikker en stroperiger, dus bij Nidhi moest ik nog even wennen..sorry voor de wat rommelige applicatie) maar bij Gilda had ik m door ;) Ik koop mijn zoya lakken bij Julie van Sparkling nails, ze is ontzettend lief en behulpzaam en heeft heel veel mooie lakken, ook degene die moeilijk te vinden zijn, mocht de lak die je zoekt er niet bijstaan kan ze hem misschien nog wel voor je vinden. Echt super!

Mooi rood is niet lelijk en stiekem hou ik heel erg van rood, Nidhi is een ultieme rode jelly met rode glitters. Dit zijn 3 laagjes en aangezien de zon zich ineens liet zien heb ik er een spoedklus van gemaakt, ik weet het ik heb netter gelakt, maar ik wou m zo graag in zonlicht fotografere, de foto toont waarom ;)
Gilda is een "hot pink" met koele ondertoon en met roze en gouden glitters, al verdwijnt het goud door de jellytextuur, maar het resultaat is er niet minder om! Enjoy!

Zoya Nidhi and Gilda are part of the sparkle collection  just like Ivanka. I had to adjust to this formula (before swatching these I did swatches of a much thicker and "gooeyer" formula so I had to get used to this thinner polish, my apologies for the messy application on Nidhi, but after Nidhi I got the hang of it ;) I get my zoya polishes from Julie's Sparkling Nails, she is really sweet and helpful and has lots of gorgeous polishes, even the hard to find ones! She ships internationally and if she does not have the one you are looking for in her store she might be able to get it for you, she is awsome :)

I am always in for a pretty red and Nidhi is an ultimate red jelly with red glitters. This is 3 coats and suddenly the sun appeared, so I had to hurry as well because I really wanted to take a picture of this in  full sunlight the picture says it all don't you think?
Gilda is a hot pink with a cool side and pink and golden glitters, the gold ones seem to dissapear in the jelly texture but it is still pretty amazing!  I got 3 out of 6 colors, the others are a purple, aqua and fuchsia sparkle, there was only one thing missing in this collection....an orange sparkle (not just because of the world cup) but I would love to have a pretty orange sparkle..maybe next summer?

Diva of Geneva is een van mijn favorieten uit de Swiss collectie, Diva of Geneva is een clash van paars en berry en heeft gouden en bronzen shimmer waardoor deze kleur licht lijkt te geven in het zonlicht. Dit is een echte herfsttint, ik geniet volop van de zomer maar hiervan zou je zowaar zin in de herfst krijgen, de gouden shimmer doet een beetje denken aan de kleur van de blaadjes die in de herfst van de bomen vallen. In de schaduw laat de diva zich van haar koele kant zien en komt de paarse kant wat meer naar voren. Ik heb echt geen vergelijkbare kleur in mijn collectie, de enige die misschien verre familie is is didgeredoo your nails? Oja, voor ik het vergeet...dit zijn 2 laagjes snel en makkelijk aan te brengen lak zonder topcoat. De Swiss collectie is in Nederland vanaf eind augustus verkrijgbaar. Diva of Geneva is one of my swiss favorites, Diva of Geneva is a clash of purple and berry and has golden and bronze shimmers that make this polish glow from within when the sun shines. This is a true fall shase, I am so enjoying the summer but this makes you dream of golden autumn leaves, the shimmer makes me think of those beautiful shades of bronze and gold when the leaves fall of the trees. In the shade this diva exposes her cool side and shows a little more purple. I really don't have anything even remotely close to this, maybe Didgeridoo your nails? is a far far cousin? Opi Swiss fall/winter 2010 collection bottle preview

Hier alvast een voorproefje van de Opi Swiss collectie (in Nederland vanaf eind augustus verkrijgbaar) , Diva of Geneva, een absolutely fabulous paars/berry met gouden en koperkleurige shimmer. Yodel Me on my Cell, een diepblauwgroene lak met duizelingwekkend veel shimmers en I'm Suzi & I'm a Chocoholic, een roodbruine kleur, beetje á la Can You tapas this? maar dan veel warmer en roder, echt een hele mooie herfsttint. Ik heb net de swatches gedaan dus ik ga de foto's nu bekijken en uitzoeken en dan morgen de eerste van de 3, welke willen jullie als eerste zien??? Deze kleuren zijn vanaf eind augustus bij de erkende Opi verkooppunten verkrijgbaar. (en aangezien ik 31 augustus jarig ben is het niet moeilijk te raden wat er op mijn verlanglijstje staat ;)

China glaze Flip Flop Fantasy Poolside collection

goedemorgen allemaal! Omdat het zinderend warm is is een Poolside lakje wel toepasselijk nietwaar?
Ik vond deze foto van Patsy wel toepasselijk, past best bij de collectie toch? Ze vind het heerlijk om op het luchtbedje te dobberen in het zonnetje :)

Flip Flop Fantasy is zo fel in het echt dat je je zonnebril op moet zetten om ernaar te kunnen kijken, dit zijn 2 laagjes met een laag seche vite topcoat, ik had al 2 laagjes Koh baby beige op mijn nagels (ja ik was te lui om alles te verwijderen en opnieuw te beginnen, zowiezo is een goeie nudekleur een mooie basis voor veel lakken en ik had al gelezen dat flip flop wat transparanter was, al viel mij dat best mee) dus het was zo gepiept. Ik ga me nu even invetten met wat spf en dan ga ik zo even van het zonnetje genieten. (klik hier voor mijn favo zonneproducten) Fijn weekend!

Goodmorning all! With this hot temperatures a Poolside polish is quite appropriate right? I really love this picture of Patsy and it kinda matches with the poolside collection don't you think haha, she loves to soak up the sun like this :)

Flip Flop Fantasy is so bright in real life you will need your sunglasses to look at it, this is 2 coats of polish and one coat seche vite topcoat. I was already wearing 2 coats of Koh baby beige on my nails (don't judge me, I was lazy and a good nude is a great base voor bright and sheerer colors to prevent VNL and since I read that FFF was a little on the sheer side, this was my way to go, altough to me it was not that sheer..) so this was a quick mani :) I am going to put on some tanning lotion now (click here for my favorite tanning products) and enjoy the sun safely and have a great weekend!

 

  

summer accessoirize wishlist part 2 MosquitNo!

 












De wishlist slaan we in dit geval maar even over want ik heb deze nodig en wel NU! (ik ben muggendoelwit nummer 1) Deze vrolijke armbandjes zijn niet alleen heel erg leuk en kleurig, de bandjes van MosquitNo’s
beschermen namelijk 2 dagen tegen muggen door natuurlijke citronella.(dus geen giftige toestanden) citronella ruikt heerlijk fris en voor mij persoonlijk heeft het nog een nostalgische waarde ook, toen ik nog een klein grietje was besprenkelde mijn moeder de tent in Italië (Muggenland nummer 1) al met citronella-olie de geur doet me nog steeds denken aan die heerlijke vakanties. Ik gebruik nu nog citronella-olie op het beddengoed. Had ik al gezegd dat de armbandjes te leuk zijn? (ik wil de roze, oranje en gele ach en doe dan ook maar de babyblauwe en witte....) Ojee...Nederland zit nog steeds in de running of becoming the world's next top models uhm.... wereldkampioen voetbal dan.... dus vandaag nog een paar mooie oranje lakken die het ook heel goed doen als ze het morgen niet redden tegen Brazilië maar daar gaan we maar niet van uit :)

Uhoh the Netherlands are still in the running of becoming the world's next top models...uhm okay world soccer champion..so today let's do some more pretty oranges that will still be pretty when the Netherlands lose their cool against Brazil, but let's not assume that :)

Koh Flamingo
Feeling Matt matt matt ole ole ole ole....uhm door deze kleur zit dat zomerse liedje in mn hoofd.... maar das ook logisch met dit tropische koraalrood in matte uitvoering, dit zijn 2 laagjes en ik zou het eerder satijnfinish noemen dan echt mat maar dit is (naar mijn bescheiden mening) mooier dan echt mat, lastig te omschrijven maat het oogt heel zacht en de satijnglans geeft deze kleur een echte glow.

Feeling Matt matt matt ole ole ole ole...uhm now I can't get this song out of my head...but that happens when you see this tropical coral with matte finish, altough to my humble opinion it is more satin than mat finish and this is so much prettier than real chalky matte, it's kinda hard to describe but it looks so soft and glowy.

Essie Capri
Deze heb ik voor de naam gekocht( ik wil zooo graag nog eens naar Capri) maar ik vind de kleur ook echt heeel mooi. Bij Capri denk ik aan limoncello, zon, zee en een flinke dosis italiaanse chic, deze oranjerode creme is een echte eyecatcher.

I got this one for the name (I would looove to go to Capri once...) but I also really like this color! Capri makes me think of sun, sea, limoncello and italian chic, this red-orange stunner is a real eyecather!
